Located as a far Western suburb of Phoenix, Goodyear, Arizona is a city in Maricopa County. Coming off a growth spurt in the 1990s the town is one of many popular Phoenix suburbs that make up the Phoenix, MSA.

The city derives its name from the Goodyear Tire And Rubber Company. Unbeknownst to many people, Goodyear bought farmland here in the early 20th century to grow cotton, as a material for their tires. In fact, cotton was a fiber commonly used as part of tire production in the past. Goodyear is also home to the aptly named Goodyear Ballpark. This ballpark hosts the spring training for two major league baseball teams, the Cleveland Guardians and the Cincinnati Reds. Goodyear is a livable city having won a notable civic award, the All American City Award in 2008.
